Welcome to Beth Howes Pilates
Welcome to Beth Howes Pilates. Beth teaches true to the original teachings, commitment and method developed by Joseph Pilates in the 1920's. Pilates is an exercise method (originally known as Contrology) with 6 principles; control, concentration, centring, flow, breath and precision. It leaves you with the amazing feeling of mental and physical well-being, developing the whole body. Whether it's improving your well-being, recovery from injury or as a stress relief, Pilates is for you.
Beth Howes Pilates originally started in January 2018, where Beth was teaching at the Pembrokeshire Pilates studio and running her own classes around Pembrokeshire. In December 2018, Beth opened her classical studio in Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire, where she offers private one to ones, duets and group classes. The studio is well equipped with classical apparatus from Pilates Design. Since being in lockdown and the studio being forced to close, Beth has been teaching one to ones and classes online, and will continue this as a service now that the studio has reopened.
My Story
Beth Howes
Owner & Teacher
At the age of 16, I discovered Pilates, seeking a way to improve joint problems, exacerbated by my love of ballet and sport. Pilates helped me to strengthen and support my joints, which then led to my training and certification. I still enjoy playing sport including hockey and cricket for local clubs.
I am certified in Authentic Pilates and have completed the 18 month training programme with The New York Pilates Studio. This consisted of over 600 hours observing, teaching and self practice. Throughout this period I had assistance and help from Classical Pilates UK and Pembrokeshire Pilates. I am always learning and I continue to attend Pilates workshops with well known teachers, to improve my pilates knowledge - "you never stop learning".
